Born and raised in the mountains of Claremont, New Hampshire, Evelyn started performing in church at age 10, writing originals by 13, and fronting a band by 14. Her voice—often described as rich, wild, and haunting—Billboard said about Evelyn that she sounds like “being transported back to some lost Lilith Fair performance, circa 1998.” In 2019 Evelyn had the opportunity to be on season 17 of American Idol where she won the Gold Ticket to perform alongside of Chris Isaak. Evelyn advanced to top 20 and Katy Perry said that her voice was “one of my favorite voices I’ve ever heard in my life." In 2020 Evelyn began to release music that she felt called toward.
